I bought Power Stone for the Dreamcast a couple months ago mainly because I was able to pick it up for $6 (disck only, but in great condition). Now, I'm really not into fighters at all! But wanting to check out what I had bought, I tossed it in and played a few rounds vs. the cpu. And my initial thoughts were...meh...so back in a case it went and sat.
But today a very rare occurrence happened. I had a friend show up and wanted to play some games with me. (Trust me, since moving back home...I don't have many friends left around here at all) But anyway, he specifically asked if I had any fighting games. The only 2 I could think of off the top of my head were Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram and Power Stone.
Well, we played both, but both of us discovered how much we loved Power Stone! What a frickin' blast of a game! Tons & tons of moves incorporated with interactive backgrounds...and of course...the Power Stone power-ups. We would have played all afternoon had he not had to leave.
Mine eyes have been opened to fighters! (Maybe) But I definitely want to play the story mode in Power Stone to see if there are any un-lockable characters and areas.
Of course now I'm going to have to track down PS2...which is even more rare and pricey...but worth it if it is anything like what I played earlier today!
So for you DC owners, Power Stone is one heck of a ball of fighting fun!
